Langenargen
Langenargen is the place to go if you are looking for a relaxing vacation and at the same time want to have the possiblity to be active (cycling, hiking, excursions).
Langenargen has a small historical center with a wonderful baroque church and a moorish castle of the earls of Monfort.
The water front with its wonderful flowers offers a nice view to the Lake of Constance (Bodensee), the Swiss shore and also the Alps.

Activities
Hiking/Walking: Orchards around Langenargen invite for long walks. A large forest with lots of trails for running and walking is only about 200 m from our house. The river valley of the Argen is wellknown for its beautiful trails. Only a few kilometers away there are very nice trails such as the "hop trail" in Tettnang.
Biking: Very well signposted bike routes lead all around the Bodensee and also into the river valley of the Argen. Our very nice hinterland will excite bikers.
Places for excursions: Flower island Mainau, Affenberg Salem (more than 200 free living Barbary macaques), historical center of Meersburg, various Museums (i.e. Zeppelin museum, Dornier museum in Friedrichshafen), the mountain Säntis with Cableway, SeaLife in Constance, Rhine falls in Schaffhausen (Switzerland), vegetable island Reichenau (world cultural heritage), island Lindau, Pfänder Cable car in Bregenz, Opera on the Lake in Bregenz, Ravensburger Spieleland...
Boat Trips: A large amount of boats are crossing the lake in all directions. Just have a look at their schedule to see which harbour you want to be brought to or take a trip to Austria or Switzerland be boat. Several sailing schools at Langenargen are offering sailing courses and also provide sailing boats for rent.
